When I was 12, I was in a car accident and suffered whiplash. Over time, as a result of the accident, my spine has been degenerating and the amount of physical, mental, and emotional energy it has taken to carry that pain has been tremendous. By the grace of God, I was gifted with a very positive attitude and an outlook on life that has helped me to get through some very difficult times.
Also, I had been working for 15 years in a very stressful position, often putting in 50-60 hours a week. In order to maintain this stressful workload, I was spending a lot of the money I was earning just to maintain some sort of health. To say the least, the stress and prior trauma’s I had experienced were taking their toll. My neck and shoulders felt like tightly bound rubber bands ready to pop and I felt like I couldn’t even take a deep breath.
In the past I had been to other chiropractors. After reflecting on how much time and money I was spending without lasting results, I wanted to find out how I could take a more active role in getting well rather than looking to my chiropractor to ‘fix me’ every time I was in pain.
After resigning from that stressful position, I met Dr. Whittington. At first I was not sure if what he did could help me, and I had some resistance because the adjustment was so gentle and precise. I thought, “How could this possibly relieve my pain? As I worked through my resistance in care, I was able to take deeper breaths and became very aware of how I was carrying my body and how all the years of stress were still being carried deep in my nervous system. What an enormous awareness for me to gain, and what a relief!
Since starting chiropractic care with Dr Whittington, I have been able to celebrate full days with absolutely no pain. To me, that is a miracle, which I am so grateful for. I also feel more in charge of who I am and what choices I make in my daily life. I feel stronger in my center and I look forward to experiencing more days, weeks, and months without pain as I continue my care.
Thank you Dr. Whittington for your continued support, your patience, your dedication to healing and wellness, and for giving me the key to a doorway of health and well being that I can continue throughout the rest of my life. Can chiropractic help whiplash pain?
With heartfelt gratitude,
