Knee Pain Relief With Chiropractic Care

We have found that many people in our community have knee pain and are seeking relief but do not know where to turn. Frequent knee pain affects about 25% of adults. Knee pain limits mobility and affects the quality of life.

The most common cause of knee pain in those over 50 years old is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative type of arthritis that changes the joints and cartilage of the knee joints. Knee arthritis can cause pain, stiffness, limited mobility. Worst of all, it can make it hard to get the necessary exercise. Decreasing exercise will cause weight gain, loss of energy as well as increase the chances of depression.

Knee pain is the major cause for knee replacement surgery. The frequency of knee surgery has increased 800% since 1979. It is thought that diabetes and obesity play a large role in the deterioration of knee joints. This can cause knee pain and lead to knee surgery and replacement.

Older people are not the only ones to suffer from knee pain. In fact, many young people are now suffering from knee pain. Soccer is a newly popular sport and knee and ankle injuries are common.

Chiropractic Care for Knee Pain

Where do you turn when you have knee pain? How do you get the help you need and return to your usual activities and lifestyle?

Our office has a comprehensive and effective approach to help your knee pain and stiffness.

First, we make sure the pelvis and spine are in alignment. It only makes sense that if the pelvis is out of line, then the knee cannot track properly. That causes rubbing and irritation leading to inflammation in the knee joint and eventually arthritis.

Then, we make any necessary adjustments to the knee if needed.

Next, we use Applied Kinesiology muscle testing to make sure all the muscles around the knee are working properly. The muscles are critical for maintaining the strength of the knee joint. They must be functioning properly.

High-level laser therapy is safe and works to reduce knee pain, swelling, and inflammation.

Sometimes muscles will “blow a circuit breaker” and need to be reset. They may be temporarily weak (not related to exercise) This “reset” helps the muscles to function properly in holding the knee strong and straight.

This also helps the knee to withstand pressure of exercise, running etc. and is often the missed component when exercises alone are prescribed. This muscle re-activation is often the missing component in other knee therapy like PT or acupuncture.

Laser is another therapy that is helpful in reducing inflammation and healing tissue around the knee. Laser therapy  usually requires several treatments. The High Level Laser often helps when it seems that nothing else will or could.
