Our Methods

The Activator Method

The Activator Method Chiropractic Technique is a gentle, low-force approach to chiropractic care.  The technique has been used safely on patients of all ages since the late 1960s, bringing relief to people with a variety of health concerns.
The activator is a unique hand-held instrument that has been studied extensively with results published in hundreds of peer-reviewed research papers, and was designed to give patients a specific and gentle adjustment.  The activator provides a controlled, fast thrust that is comfortable for the patient.  Muscles are less likely to resist to an activator adjustment because they are quick and more precise.
Patients from all ages can enjoy the benefits of an adjustment with the activator.  This technique is especially effective for children who have a hard time laying still.  Older patients, people with arthritis, osteoporosis or other bone-weakening conditions find the technique effective and gentle.

Diversified Chiropractic

Diversified Chiropractic technique addresses biomechanical failure in each section of the spine, as it relates to a partial dislocation.  The focus is on restoration to normal biomechanical function, and correction of subluxation.  Diversified adjusting of the spine uses specific lines of drives for all manual thrusts, allowing for specificity in correcting mechanical distortions of the spine.  No instruments are used in the adjusting procedure.  Motion palpitation and full spine, hands-on techniques are used to deliver a deeper thrust, which makes an osseous (popping) sound as the adjustment is given.

Sacral Occipital Technique

Sacral Occipital technique (SOT) is a method of chiropractic care designed to normalize the relationship between the foundation of the spine (sacrum) and the top of the spine (occipital).  The therapy aims to reduce or eliminate pain, but its primary goal is to normalize whole body function.
The purpose of the Sacral Occipital technique is to help the function and health of the entire body.  A combination of spinal and extremity alignment, soft tissue analysis and cranial sacral procedures are used.  The body’s entire structures are analyzed to find out if there’s a nerve imbalance.  When neural communication pathways between the brain and the spinal cord are working properly, mental and physical health will improve.
Dr. M. B. DeJarnette developed this technique with study, research and clinical application.  Sacral Occipital is said to naturally improve health when structural misalignment is corrected.
Misalignments can occur in the pelvis, spine, cranium, shoulders, arms, legs, knees, feet and organs.  Pain can heal in all parts of the body when they’re corrected.  This includes pain from disc degeneration, herniation, sciatic pain and plantar fascitis.  Excellent health can result when the skull, pelvis and spine are aligned and in balance.  SOT is often used with different techniques.  Patients are sometimes given direction about their diet and nutrition along with the Sacral Occipital Technique.
